RAW HOME PHONE VIDEO. 3:4 vertical. One continuous 30-second clip recorded in 2013 on an early smartphone, from the sidewalk across the street. Amateur handheld, natural micro-shake, clumsy digital pinch-zooms in and out, focus hunting, auto-exposure pumping. Overcast gray daylight. Feels like a neighbor filmed it and uploaded it that afternoon. IMAGE REFERENCES [image1] is the only lock for the driver: exact face, bald crown, mullet, full unkempt beard, tan stained work jacket, black pocket tee, gold chain, heavy build, thick neck, big belly. Same man the whole clip. [image2] is the only lock for the vehicle and the street: the dark-green three-wheel motocarro, the vertical döner spit on the open bed, orange propane bottles, pita crate, salad tubs, sauce bottles, beige speaker, wet asphalt, gray apartment block, IMBISS and DÖNER shopfronts. Same machine, same spit turning, same street the whole clip. PLACE That wet neighborhood street from [image1]. Overcast, public, shopfronts, parked cars, pigeons, people in ordinary clothes. THE MACHINE The motocarro from [image2], already in frame at 0:00, rolling in from the left. The döner cone turning on the gas spit in the open air, fat dripping, heater glow. The grandote from [image1] drives. TIMELINE 0-8s: [Handheld 3:4, neighbor already recording] The motocarro is in the shot from the first frame, creeping down the wet street. Through the tiny windshield the man from [image2] is huge in the seat, both hands on the wheel. Behind him the döner turns. Digital zoom lurches toward the spinning meat, holds, then pinches back out to the street. Ordinary people start drifting in, packing tight around the path of the trike, the same slow hungry shuffle, vacant faces, nobody talking, living bodies, everyday clothes. They cluster as it rolls. 8-14s: [Handheld, more shake] The motocarro stops on the wet asphalt. He reaches to a phone taped on the dash and hits play. Turkish music jumps out of the beige speaker and stays on. The packed crowd immediately unspools into a single-file line without anyone speaking, one person behind the next, waiting to be served. Clumsy zoom along the line of faces, then out to the whole queue and the turning meat. 14-20s: [Handheld, zoom on the door] The little cab door opens. He steps down onto the street, machete in one hand, blade down. The line leans in, expectant, still, eyes on him. Digital zoom onto the machete and the gold chain, then out to the waiting line and the spit still turning on the open bed. 20-30s: [Handheld, operator closer] He climbs onto the open bed. Grabs a pita, opens it, carves long sheets off the spinning döner with the machete, meat falling onto the bread, sauce, salad, wraps it, hands the first kebab down to the person at the front of the line. That person takes it and steps aside; the line shuffles one step forward. He is already cutting the next one as the clip ends. Zoom in on the knife against the meat, zoom out to the street, the line, the overcast sky. AUDIO Turkish music from the speaker from the moment he hits play to the end. Motocarro engine, spit motor, fat hiss, crowd hush, footsteps on wet asphalt, machete on meat, paper wrap. Distant street noise. No extra score. STYLE & QUALITY 2010s homemade phone video: 3:4, soft digital zoom blocks, rolling shutter, crushed JPEG, muddy overcast whites, ordinary digital noise, real weight on the trike, the spit, the meat, the crowd. Continuous take. Stable faces. The same man from [image1], the same motocarro and street from [image2], the same spinning kebab from start to finish. RAW HOME PHONE VIDEO. 3:4 vertical. One continuous 30-second clip recorded in 2013 on an early smartphone, from the sidewalk a few meters away. Feels like a neighbor filmed it and uploaded it that afternoon. REFERENCES Use the [video] as reference and continue from the last frame. START Meat is already falling in thin sheets onto the round metal drip tray as he cuts. A city pigeon lands on the very top of the döner cone in the first seconds and stays perched there, calm, until the torch. TIMELINE 0-6s: [Handheld 3:4, already on him] Opening frame: he carves. The spit turns. Slices drop onto the metal base. The pigeon lands on the peak of the meat and settles, wings fold. Clumsy digital zoom onto the knife and the falling meat, then out to the pigeon on top and the line behind. 6-12s: [Handheld, lazy zoom] Two more cuts. He lays the machete down on the metal tray. Picks up the black-handled spatula already sitting on the rotisserie base, scoops the cut meat from the tray, dumps it into the open pita. Grabs the white-sauce squeeze bottle and pours a heavy amount over the meat. The pigeon is still on the cone. Zoom in on the sauce, out to the pita. 12-18s: [Handheld] He rolls the kebab tight, then shakes it hard in both hands like a cocktail shaker, up and down, a couple of sharp flicks. The first person in line steps forward, holds out a paper bill. He takes the bill, hands over the kebab. That person steps aside. Zoom on the exchange, out to the line. 18-24s: [Handheld, more shake] From the back of the bed he grabs a blowtorch hooked to one of the bright orange rubber hoses. He lights it and starts flambéing the turning döner, flame licking up the meat. The flame catches the pigeon’s tail. The pigeon startles, jumps, and lands on his bald crown and starts pecking his scalp. He flails, still holding the torch, trying to get it off. Zoom onto the bald head and the bird. 24-30s: [Handheld widening, operator backing up] While he is fighting the pigeon on his head, the whole line breaks. People climb onto the truck bed, crowding the spit, grabbing meat with their hands, eating straight off the turning döner. He is still wrestling the bird. The clip ends in that mess. Zoom out to the whole bed, the crowd, the street. AUDIO Street hush, spit motor, fat hiss, machete on meat, sauce squirt, paper wrap, bill, blowtorch roar, pigeon wing-flap and pecks, startled voices, feet on the metal bed. Distant traffic. No extra score. No cinematic sound design. STYLE & QUALITY 2010s homemade phone video: 3:4, soft digital zoom blocks, rolling shutter, crushed JPEG, muddy overcast whites, ordinary digital noise, real weight on meat, flame, bird, bodies. Continuous take. Stable faces. The pigeon is a real city pigeon. The people are living people in ordinary clothes. Same man , same three-wheeled flatbed truck and street, same spinning kebab from start to finish.
